Customers without water in New Creek

February 17th, 2017 by WCBC Radio

The Cumberland Times News reports approcimately 100 New Creek residents on Hooker Hollow Road, Hershey Hollow Road and Graysons Gap Road remained without water service Friday as crews with the New Creek Water Association worked to determine why. "Until we find what's actually causing the problem, we're pretty stymied," said Norman Launi, a board member with the water association.  The problem began Thursday and crews worked Friday searching for leaks in the water system. Water isn't able to be pumped into the water tank. Launi said crews have basically been working around the clock since the problem began. The New Creek Fire Department opened its doors from 2 until 11 p.m. Friday so residents without water could have access to potable water, a shower and a bathroom. The fire department will remain open to affected residents until water service is restored, said Launi.
