Dapper Dan Awards Banquet Set For February 28th

The Cumberland Times News reports former Army running back Joe Ross, the recipient of the Dapper Dan Club of Allegany County’s highest honor for 1994, the George W. Stevenson/Nicholas A. Perlozzo Memorial Award, will return to his hometown on Sunday, Feb. 28, to speak at the 68th annual Dapper Dan Awards Banquet, 4 p.m., at the Ali Ghan Shrine.

A 1990 graduate of Bishop Walsh High School, Ross was the 1989 Times-News Area High School Football Player of the Year. He is a 1995 graduate of the United States Military Academy, West Point, N.Y., where he was a three-year letter winner and co-captain of the 1994 Army football team.

Retired, U.S. Army, Ross is the President of HigherEchelon, Inc., which is an organizational performance consulting firm with offerings in leadership, technology and engineering to both public and private sector clients. His background includes diverse leadership assignments, years of performance study, and the development of organizational effectiveness programs, culminating in HigherEchelon’s flagship program, The Resilient and Adaptable Leader ©.

 

This year’s recipient of the George W. Stevenson/Nicholas A. Perlozzo Memorial Award is West Virginia University safety Jarrod Harper, a 2012 graduate of Mountain Ridge High School. The Dapper Dan’s top award has been presented since 1952 to the person who brings the most national recognition to the Allegany County area through athletics.
