On Saturday afternoon, at approximately 1:40 PM, Cumberland Police responded to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center in reference to a disorderly male subject.

Upon the officers’ arrival, they could hear yelling coming from the hallway.  Police contacted the subject, who was later identified as Nathan Murray Jr.    Murray was yelling and waving his arms.  Murray was escorted to the waiting room and he continued to yell at the staff.  Murray was warned several times to lower his voice and he continued to yell at the staff and disrupt hospital operations.  Officers advised Murray that he was under arrest at which time he resisted and attempted to pull away from the officers.  Murray was able to be controlled and placed in hand restraints.  He was transported to the police station for processing.

Officers learned that Murray had provided them with false identifying information.  Through a search incident to arrest, officers found that Murray was in possession of suspected marijuana, suspected crystal methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.  Officers also discovered that Murray had an active arrest warrant through the U.S. Marshall’s Office.  Murray was taken before the District Court Commissioner for a bond hearing.  He was held on a $5,000 bond for the local charges and the arrest warrant was lodged as a detainer.
