Winter Weather Advisory for Central and Eastern Allegany County in effect from 1 PM to 7PM; Winter Weather Advisory for Extreme Western Allegany County in effect from 1 PM today to Noon on Friday.

ADVISORY FOR CENTRAL AND EASTERN ALLEGANY COUNTY- WASHINGTON-CENTRAL AND EASTERN ALLEGANY-FREDERICK VA-CLARKE- HAMPSHIRE-MORGAN-BERKELEY-JEFFERSON-EASTERN MINERAL
… THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BALTIMORE MD/WASHINGTON HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR FREEZING RAIN…WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 7 PM EST THIS EVENING.
* PRECIPITATION TYPE…SNOW…SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN.
* ACCUMULATIONS…SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATION LESS THAN ONE INCH. ICE ACCUMULATION A TRACE TO A FEW HUNDREDTHS OF AN INCH.
* TIMING…THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING. THE BEST CHANCE FOR FREEZING RAIN WILL BE BETWEEN 3 PM AND 6 PM THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING.
* TEMPERATURES…IN THE LOWER 30S.
* WINDS…SOUTH 10 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS AROUND 20 MPH. * IMPACTS…ROADS AND SIDEWALKS MAY BECOME ICY…RESULTING IN HAZARDOUS TRAVEL DURING THE EVENING RUSH.
ADVISORY FOR EXTREME WESTERN ALLEGANY COUNTY-WESTERN MINERAL:
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BALTIMORE MD/WASHINGTON HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW…SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN…WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO NOON EST FRIDAY.
* PRECIPITATION TYPE…SNOW…SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN.
* ACCUMULATIONS…3 TO 6 INCHES OF SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATION. ICE ACCUMULATION A TRACE TO A FEW HUNDREDTHS OF AN INCH.
* TIMING…A MIXTURE OF SNOW…SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN IS EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING. PRECIPITATION WILL CHANGE TO ALL SNOW TONIGHT AND CONTINUE THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING. ADDITIONAL SNOW SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED FRIDAY AFTERNOON.
* TEMPERATURES…UPPER 20S TO LOWER 30S THIS AFTERNOON…FALLING INTO THE UPPER TEENS AND LOWER 20S TONIGHT. TEMPERATURES WILL CONTINUE TO FALL FRIDAY INTO THE SINGLE DIGITS AND LOWER TEENS.
* WINDS…SOUTHEAST TODAY 10 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS AROUND 25 MPH. WINDS WILL BECOME WEST TONIGHT AT 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS AROUND 40 MPH. NORTHWEST WINDS ARE EXPECTED FRIDAY AT 20 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS AROUND 50 MPH.
* IMPACTS…SNOW COVERED ROADS ARE EXPECTED TONIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY. SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW WILL REDUCE VISIBILITY BELOW ONE- HALF MILE AT TIMES…CAUSING EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS.
