DeArchangelis Plans to Officially Drop Out Soon

April 8th, 2012 by WCBC Radio

As of Friday, successful city council primary candidate Nick DeArcangelis had not officially withdrawn his name from consideration for the general election- however he has said he is planning to do so. In last Tuesday’s Cumberland primary, four candidates were selected by voters to move onto the fall election seeking with two open seats on the council. DeArcangelis announced on the Friday before the primary however that he can’t take the job as a result of growing job responsibilities. He is the co-owner of Annie’s Fine Furniture and also works as operations manager for Environmental Services at Western Maryland Health System. Marjorie Eirich, city clerk, told WCBC News that DeArcangelis has not withdrawn to date- but he still has plenty of time to take that action.
