Death Of Inmate Being Investigated

The death of the inmate at Western Correctional Institution on Friday, September 13, 2013 has been ruled a homicide by the medical examiner’s office. 

 

As the investigation continues, doctors at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner have ruled Jason Wallace’s death a homicide.  After the completion of the autopsy, it indicated Wallace died from blunt force trauma to the head.  Wallace was an inmate at the Western Correctional Institution.  Investigators from the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit along with members of the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Service, Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division, C3I, and state police crime scene technicians are continuing their investigation.

 

A suspect has been identified and is an inmate at the same facility.  However, no charges have been filed at this time.  When charges are filed the identity of the suspect will be released. 

 

 The investigation is ongoing.
