Del. Buckel Confident Additional Funding For New Allegany HS Will Be Secured

With the Allegany County Board of Education accepting the $50.8 million bid to construct a new high school on Haystack Mountain for the Altoona-based Leonard Fiori company- the next hurdle to finding the final $3 to $3.5 million needed to complete the funding packaged.  In addition to approving the base bid, the board approved an additional $508,000 in add-ons that include a running track, terrazzo flooring, data wiring for computer labs, auditorium seating and sound system. The board, with roughly $46.5 million secured. However, BOE officials are confident that the state, county and delegation can bridge that gap in the coming 12 to 36 months.  Delegate Jason Buckel tells WCBC News he is confident the final $3 million plus funding piece of the puzzle will be secured…
