Del. McKay Introduces Bill Proposing Congressional Term Limits Amendment

Delegate Mike McKay has introduced a bill calling for Maryland to participate in a national initiative for the states to propose a congressional term limits amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The effort is being spearheaded by the nonpartisan, nonprofit U.S. Term Limits (USTL). McKay talked with WCBC News about why he has advocated for congressional term limits for several years….

    Congress will not be better because ‘everyone gets a turn.’ Term limits already exist – they are called elections. Don’t like the incumbent? Vote for someone else. If he or she is doing a good job – you vote to keep him. Term limits will cut the number of people who can run because they will effectively be out of work after a short period and they families financial security at risk. Wasn’t financial security for HIS family the reason Delegate McKay wanted the higher paying job that Mary Beth won? No. The ‘term limits’ we have built in to the system now, work for me. Term limits is just an easy out for lazy voters not to stay alert about what goes on in DC.

    Mckay is the best virtue signaler around. He’s going to limit congress to 8 years while trying to serve 20 in elected office himself
