Delaney Weighs In On Federal Pay Freeze

September 2nd, 2018 by WCBC Radio

On Friday, Congressman John K. Delaney (MD-6) reacted to the Trump Administration’s announcement of a pay freeze for federal employees:

“Millions of families and hundreds of thousands of federal employees would be hurt by this decision, and I stand with my fellow members of Congress to push back against this decision. That’s why I was an original cosponsor of the FAIR Act (H.R. 4775), which would provide a 3 percent pay increase for the federal workforce in FY2019.

We need to have an honest discussion about improving our terrible fiscal trajectory, but arbitrarily attacking the hardworking public servants of our federal workforce – who have already taken cuts in pay and benefits over the past decade – is not responsible or thoughtful governing.”

Federal employees receive the best benefits in the country and most of them do little and get away with everything. They have the best health insurance and make three times as much as the average middle class person, and to boot it is our tax dollars paying for them, do away with federal employees and let them become civilians contracted by the government and see how they fair

I agree with Martin. They are not hurting, let Delaney & his constituents give up 25% of their pay to fund it if he feels that strongly!!!
