Maryland Delegate Ron George has announced he will seek the Republican nomination for governor. In a press release sent on Friday, George said he will focus on creating a new business environment in Maryland for small businesses to thrive. Brian Vaeth, a former firefighter, is the only other Republican candidate to file with the Maryland State Board of Elections. Democrat Lt. Governor Anthony Brown kicked off his campaign for governor last month with the backing of Governor Martin O'Malley.
