Delfest 2013 Sets Record Numbers

May 31st, 2013 by WCBC Radio

By most accounts, including attendance numbers and quality of performances, Delfest 2013 was the best bluegrass festival of the six that have been held at the Allegany County Fairgrounds. The four day event held over the Memorial Day weekend drew more than 30,000 people to the area- and unlike many music festivals, County Commissioner Bill Valentine says Delfest is a trouble free, family oriented affair. Valentine, who was in attendance all four days of the festival, said there was no rowdy behavior or trouble and that record crowds attended. The legend himself, Del McCoury will be returning to the area shortly to distribute proceeds from the event to a number of charitable community organizations.

I am curious? Did anyone fly in to the Del Fest? I would think that opening the airport would bring more people and business to the area. I for one would love to have access to a larger airport via Cumberland. Have a great day CUMBERLAND!
