December 21st, 2016 by WCBC Radio

Although mixed signals have been sent out in the past week about a new contract between Allegany County and DelFest representatives- the bottom line appears to be that a deal Is close at hand and could be finalized by the end of the month. Public comments by Commissioner Bill Valentine made at the end of last week’s regular commissioners meeting sparked the discussion as Valentine said a new five year deal to continue the bluegrass festival at the fairgrounds has been agreed upon. McCoury business representative Stan Strictland, on WCBC’s “Dave Norman Show” Monday suggested that although close- no contract has been signed to date as a few sticking points remain.  One of those points mentioned by Strictland centered on whether or not Tourism Director Barb Buehl would remain on the job, but county administrator David Eberly says that really hasn’t been part of the discussion….
