Demolitions For Rolling Mill Project To Be Completed Soon

Earlier this week the former Friendship Haven Church on Williams Street was demolished. The church is just the latest and biggest structure taken down as part of the Maryland Avenue Redevelopment Project, which includes removing 68 properties in the city's Rolling Mill neighborhood. The target area is located between Maryland Avenue and Park Street and Emily and Williams streets. The properties are being razed to create room for commercial development. The project is being administered by the nonprofit Cumberland Economic Development Corp.  Paul Kelly, director of the CEDC, is overseeing the Rolling Mill project and he said the demolitions should be complete in the very near future.
