Despite Discussed Return to Work, WV Schools Remain Closed

Early Wednesday, we believed there would be a return to the classroom for West Virginia teachers and support personnel after a five day work stoppage. Not so fast…

 

By mid afternoon, some school systems had started posting they woud be closed on Thursday, the day Governor Jim Justice and union leaders had agreed would be a return to work day.  By 10 PM, our local school systems in Mineral, Hampshire, Grant and Hardy Counties had announced they, too, would be closed Thursday. By 11 PM, all 55 West Virginia counties had announced schools would be closed Thursday.
