On 10/28/12 an Officer on patrol was contacted by a citizen who stated they had just witnessed a subject break the wooden arm off of a parking device at the CBIZ parking lot on Mechanic Street. The witness provided a description of the subject and advised the subject had just walked up Baltimore Street towards Washington Street. Officers located the suspect, Jeremy Veney. Veney admitted to grabbing the wooden arm but was unaware that he caused it to break. Another Officer responded to the CBIZ parking lot and observed the wooden was indeed broken. After checking with the Dispatch center it was determined Veney also had an outstanding Bench Warrant from Frederick County, MD. Veney was wanted for Failure to Pay a Fine in regards to a traffic offense in Frederick County. Veney was issued a Criminal Citation for the Destruction of Property. The bench warrant was served and Veney was taken before the District Court Commissioner. Veney was later released on his own Recognizance.
