Discussions Continue on Board’s Health Insurance Package

With the Allegany County Board of Education’s budget picture nearing a breaking point- discussions continue on WCBC’s “Dave Norman Show” as to the possibility of making major changes to the health insurance package- which could lead to substantial savings for the system. The various bargaining groups have current splits of 90/10 and 85/15. A proposal of moving to a 50/50 split could result in a savings of $8 to $9 million.  School Board member Wayne Foote says he is open to discussing any plans that will improve the board’s fiscal situation…
