District 1C Candidate Calls Gun Control Measures Ineffective Says Focus Should Be On Mental Health

Another school shooting this week, this one much closer to home occurring in Saint Mary’s County, has the candidates for various political offices in this year’s election being asked for their positions on school safety and gun violence. Jordan Lysczek is running as a Republican for the Maryland House of Delegates in District 1C. Lysczek, a Hancock resident, born and raised, and the town’s only practicing attorney with a law office in the community, is a first-time candidate for public office. Pointing to the stringent gun control measures put into place in Maryland during the O’Malley administration as having been largely ineffective- she tells WCBC News the focus clearly needs to be on mental health…
