Disturbance on Union Street leads to several arrests

On Friday  at 7:48 pm, Cumberland Police Officers responded to the alley off of the 200 block of E. Union Street for several individuals consuming alcohol and creating a disturbance.  When officers arrived they located the individuals in the alley consuming alcohol and being disruptive.  Officers advised the subjects identified as Christopher Miller, age 45 of Cumberland, and Brian Widdows, age 39 of Cumberland that they could not consume alcohol on the street and create a scene.  Miller and Widdows continued to act in a disorderly manner and where placed under arrest.  Also arrested was Michael Smith, age 44 of Cumberland.  Smith during the incident was found to have a Warrant for his arrest through the Allegany County Circuit Court.  Miller and Widdows were both issued a Criminal Citation for disorderly conduct and a citation for an open container. They were then released pending trial in District Court.  Smith was issued a citation for an open container, and was served with the Warrant before being transported to District Court for his Initial Appearance. He was then released on his own recognizance.
