Doctors To Open MD’s First Testing Lab For Medical Marijuana

A group of local doctors is planning to open Maryland's first testing lab for medical marijuana. The state legislature approved medical marijuana back in 2013, but officials have not yet awarded the 15 licenses to growers. Dr. Andrew Rosenstein, a gastroenterologist at St. Joseph's Medical Center, is CEO of Steep Hill Maryland. He says they will work to make sure patients who are using medical marijuana are getting the best product they can. Dr. Rosenstein says they are just handling compliance and testing of medical cannabis. The growers will have to have their products tested by labs like his before it goes to the market. Rosenstein expects it will take them six months to a year to get their first products to market once the licenses are awarded to the growers…
