Doug Gansler Joins Maryland Governor Race

Maryland Attorney General Douglas Gansler formally joined a fiercely competitive Democratic primary for governor Tuesday, casting himself as the outsider in the race and pledging to put the interests of middle-class Marylanders first.  Gansler made Cumberland one of his early campaign stops. A Yale-educated former Montgomery County state’s attorney announced his 2014 bid Tuesday in Rockville, which he said symbolized his commitment to fairness and “standing up for the hard- working people of Maryland.” On Thursday he walked the downtown Cumberland Mall introducing himself to local voters.  An early theme has been doing the will of the people, not special interest groups or political action committees…
