Downtown Business Owners Frustrated at ‘Friday After Five’

Several downtown business owners have expressed frustration that the ultra successful “Friday After Five” events is not leading to an increase in traffic in their stores. While the bars and restaurants, particularly those on Baltimore Street, see a significant boost in business each Friday during the spring and summer- some of the other businesses not centrally located feel they aren’t deriving tose same benefits- and its becoming a point of frustration. Downtown Manager Ed Mullaney said that while  the Friday events were designed to attract people to the downtown area- it is up to the business owners to find ways to get those people into their shops.
