Former Allegany County Register of Wills Rebecca Drew admitted misconduct in office this morning in Washington County Circuit Court, and was given a three year suspended sentence.
Felony theft charges were not prosecuted by the state.
Drew was indicted by an Allegany County Grand Jury on July 19th, 2017, after it was presented evidence by the state prosecutors office about misconduct that had occurred in the latter half of 2016.
WCBC had received multiple reports that Drew had been absent from work for many days during the several months prior to the indictment.
