Education organizations endorse Trone

February 13th, 2020 by WCBC Radio

Today, the Maryland State Education Association (MSEA), along with their parent affiliate the National Education Association (NEA), announced their endorsement of Congressman David Trone for re-election to Maryland’s Sixth Congressional District.

Trone is the only member of the Maryland Delegation on the Education and Labor Committee, where he has served as a champion for students and educators. He’s been a leader for transformative pieces of legislation, including the College Affordability Act, the Teacher and School Leader Partnership Grants Act, and the TRUE Equity Act, legislation that aligns with the recommendations from Maryland’s Kirwan Commission. Trone has been on the front lines of ensuring children have proper nutrition in schools and held Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos’ feet to the fire when she threatened policies that would hurt students and educators.

“The National Education Association is the largest labor union and professional interest group in the United States.”

NEA, MSEA and ACEA are all labor unions masquerading in association clothing and engaging propagandists like Jay to say oh, no, there is no teacher’s union here.

Once again, you are wrong. I am a retired teacher so I’m not whistling dixie. Yes, ACEA members pay dues but teachers are not required to do so. I know quite a few teachers who opted not to pay dues. The negotiations by ACEA with the Bd of Ed are non-binding and the board does not even have to negotiate. Basically ACEA requests items with regard to working conditions, salary, and benefits and the board can say yes or no with no consequences one way or another. ACEA, by definition, has no legal rights. I’m not familiar with anything related to the propaganda of which you have referenced multiple times.

FYI, associations are organizations of people with a common interest or purpose. … A union is a type of association, though with one major difference: members of a union have the legal right to engage in collective bargaining with an employer, and the employer is legally obligated to bargain with the union.

Of course they endorse him. Heaven forbid we allow charter schools that actually have disciplined classrooms allowing students who want to learn freedom to do so.

Do you realize that the board of ed would be required to fund charter schools?

Charter schools are publicly funded, privately managed and semi-autonomous schools of choice. They do not charge tuition. They must hold to the same academic accountability measures as traditional schools. They receive public funding similarly to traditional schools.

Given the condition of our school system, as is today it’s been allowed to decay to the point it allegedly needs $BILLIONS annually to repair & rebuild-both facilities & systems, THE POWERS THAT HAVE BEEN ~ which, sadly, are much the same ones who Still are, Today, HAVE TOTALLY & UTTERLY FAILED at their jobs and so have all the Politicians supporting them!

Therefore, ANYONE, who would judge a Candidate for any office because it’s supported by the State BoE & ACEA, etc, were probably indoctrinated within their education system and are too ignorant to educate themself and make a decision based on any other reason-like facts that really matter and need considered b4 Voting!
Trone fits in perfect with Congressional DEMONocRATs! He’s a rich billionaire who bought his office, serves himself, first, party 2nd & those putting more $$ in his pocket, 3rd! Proof is in the pudding, as they say: His votes on impeachment, for example, REPRESENTED HIM & HIS PARTY~ NOT THE RED DISTRICT VOTERS HE IS SUPPOSED TO REPRESENT!
As for all those accolades and holding ‘Devos’s feet to the fire,’ someone should really do fact checks before they claim Truth in news bcuz Trone is NOT known for being the most participating Freshman member of Congress! Last year, his 1st year, he was the Most Absent! His 1st & only piece of legislation from him was a bill to have the General Lee statue removed from Antietam!
Trone is a ‘Coat Tail Rider’ ~ meaning others write the bills and he signs his name as a sponsor/supporter, which, in politics, allows him to Lie-Pretend he deserves Real accolades for the work~actually done by others!
A Great Example of HIS taking credit for work done by others is ALL the ‘Opioid $$’ earmarked by President Trump & approved by Congress, available to every state that asked~which, given that Gov Hogan also had an Opioid Plan…well, you get it!
Trone ONLY represents this district because of Gerrymandering & lack of EDUCATED & informed voter participation…Hopefully, like AOC & a few others, this will be his 1 & Only term in Congress!
