In the most definitive statement of support to date, State Senator George Edwards all but assured members of the Allegany County Board of Education that securing state funding for a new Allegany High School should not be a problem. During the annual pre-session meeting between the school board and the legislative delegation to Annapolis, the board listed funding for the new school as a top priority. Edwards said that should not be a concern at this point as he is confident the state will support the project.
