December 23rd, 2014 by WCBC Radio

Maryland Governor-elect Larry Hogan announced six more cabinet appointments on Tuesday, including the new Secretary of the Department of Natural Resources- and despite a great deal of speculation, it will not go to western Maryland veteran lawmaker George Edwards. Hogan named Charlie Evans, former Assistant Secretary of the Department of Natural Resources, to the posiiton. Edwards told WCBC News that the only real disapointment he feels is having not even been contacted for an interview. He says he has received a great deal of support from the local community during the process, and believes he can play an important role in the Hogan administration in his current position as a member of the powerful budget and taxation committee.
