Although the former Continental Motel along U.S. Route 40 west of LaVale has been in a state of disrepair and an eyesore for several years now- Allegany County’s Chief of Public Safety tells WCBC News that efforts are continuing to address the problem. The building was said to be close to being razed more than a year ago- but the process has dragged on. Chief Bobby Dick says that the owners Babu and Dana Patel of New Jersey have been cooperating with the county- and the hope is that the status of the condemned property, located at 15001 National Highway, will be cleared up early this year…
