Electronic Recycling Day

As previously announced, the Allegany County Commissioners, William R. Valentine, Creade V. Brodie, Jr., and Jacob C. Shade, encourage all Allegany County residents to take advantage of an exceptional upcoming opportunity to recycle unwanted electronic residential items free of charge. This will be on Saturday, January 24, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Penn-Mar Recycling Center, 975 Kelly Road – Rear Entrance, Riverside Industrial Park, Cumberland. Proof of Allegany County residency will be required.There is not any charge for these residential electronic items: TV, computer tower, laptop, computer components, scanner, printer, copier, fax machine, monitor, adding machine, calculator, typewriter, word processor, transparency maker, telephone, cell phone, pager, answering machine, microwave oven, flat screen TV/monitor, stereo electronics, tape/compact disc player, VCR/DVD player, camera, camcorder, uninterruptible power supply (power surge protector), and batteries (NiCD, Li-ion, Alkaline).
