On Saturday Senior Trooper D. T. Wagoner responded to US Rt. 40 at the entrance to Datri’s Restaurant parking lot in LaVale, Allegany County, Maryland, for a report of a vehicle collision involving personal injury.  The investigation revealed that Marlene Bittner, 74yoa of Mt. Savage, was operating 2007 Subaru Legacy.  Bittner was attempting to pull out from Datri’s parking lot, across eastbound Rt. 40, intending to go westbound.  Steven Bonner, 27yoa of Ellerslie, was operating a 2005 Yamaha motorcycle eastbound on Rt. 40 at this location.  Bittner pulled into the path of Bonner, causing Bonner to strike the Subaru on the driver side, rear passenger door.  Bonner was transported to Western Maryland Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries.  Bittner was not injured, however, was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
