The Embassy Theatre presents another in its series of one-act play festivals with its presentation of Susan Glaspell’s “Trifles” along with “Swan Song” by Anton Chekhov. The performances, for four shows only, run from August 25th through August 27th, with evening performances Thursday through Saturday at 7 pm and a Sunday matinee at 2 pm.

In “Trifles,” a bizarre death at a farmhouse brings questions of a possible murder, but who did it, and more importantly, why? The play features Matt Armentrout, Katy Amtower, Travis Borror, Tommy Nester and Carrie Wolford Watson. It is directed by Mark Baker.

In a cold, dark theatre at night, a lonely, drunken actor wrestles with old age and identity in Chekhov’s “Swan Song,” translated by Marion Fell. This classic stars Mark Baker and David Press, and is directed by Jerard Puckett. Mr. Baker appears through the courtesy of Actors’ Equity Association.

Running time for the two plays is approximately ninety minutes including a fifteen -minute intermission. Tickets are $10 regular admission and $8 for seniors and students
