Emergency management issues in Keyser

December 5th, 2015 by WCBC Radio

After a resident complained about the Mineral County 911 Center during a council meeting last week, The Mineal Tribune reports Keyser councilman Terry Liller said he would meet with the Mineral County Commission to discuss emergency police dispatching. Ralph Broadwater asked the council if there was a need for both police communications dispatchers at the Keyser Police Department and the 911 center. He said there was potential for the city to save $300,000 a year, which would allow raises for city employees, including the police department. The commissioners are aware that Liller plans to set up a time to speak with them about the 911 center but no date has been set.
