Encouraging Signs for New Funding Package for Allegany School

Although nothing will be known for sure until a new round of bids are received in February, there have been a number of encouraging signs from the state regarding the funding package for a new Allegany High School. Both Governor Larry Hogan and Comptroller Peter Franchot visited Allegany County in the past few days, and both spoke confidently of the state stepping up to fill any funding shortfall that may exist for the proposed school. In addition, Vince Montana, Director of Facilities, reported to the Allegany County Board of Education Tuesday night that the Interagency Committee on School Construction have given approval for the board’s new funding plan…
