Engineer’s Report Gives Footer Dye Works Clean Bill Of Health

The Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority received a shot in the arm this week with an engineer’s report essentially giving a clean bill of health to the historic Footer Dye Works building- making it far more attractive for potential commercial developers. Canal Place hopes that revenue from the Footer building will increase their bottom line. Doug Reed, authority member, said Canal Place now has full control over a lot besides the Footer building, known as Parcel B, which will create additional parking and expansion room. In addition, after being placed on the National Historic Registry- a myriad of new grant monies are now available to any private developers.  Authority Chair Andy Vick reacted to the report during Tuesdays regular monthly meeting….
