Farrell COmments on Foote’s Vote on Superintendent Candidates

July 15th, 2019 by WCBC Radio

Considering the approval of an interim superintendent is on the agenda of the Allegany County Board of Education for Tuesday’s meeting- but it remains uncertain as to whether the board is prepared to make any announcements. The board appeared split last week after interviewing three candidates and deliberating for three hours afterward. Once an applicant is selected by the board- the process calls for the name to be submitted to the state superintendent for final approval. One of the candidates, Dr Kim Kalbaugh, is on the list of witnesses in next week’s hearings to consider Wayne Foote’s removal from the board. That has some questioning whether or not Foote should have participated in the interview and selection process. That question was put to board president Robert Farrell during an appearance on WCBC’s “Dave Norman Show” – and he essentially said that Foote’s vote is necessary in case of a tie- and that he still believes the accusations against Foote are unfounded…
