Allegany County Sheriff Deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash that resulted in a fatality. The crash occurred on Rt. 51 near Green Ridge Road east of Oldtown. Daniel Horn, age 52, of Pittsburgh was driving west on Rt. 51. As Mr. Horn entered a right hand curve in the road, a small passenger car had crossed the center line and was in the west bound lane pointing north. Horn's SUV collided with the passenger side of the car with a tremendous impact. The operator of the passenger car, Diana Gail Knott, age 59, of Crabtree Ln., Oldtown, was apparently killed instantly. Mr. Horn was treated at the scene for minor injuries. A county forensic investigator responded as well as Oldtown Ambulance and the Paw Paw Fire Department. The Maryland State Police assisted.
