Fatal Pedestrian Collision In Washington County

On 2/18/16 at approximately 1826hrs the Hagerstown barrack received a call for a pedestrian dressed in all dark clothing supposedly walking in the roadway on Rt 63 at Resh Road in Washington County.   While preparing to dispatch a Trooper to that location, at 1827hrs the Hagerstown barrack received a call that a pedestrian had been struck at Rt 63 at Resh Road.

     Troopers arrived on the scene a short time later and verified that a pedestrian had been struck.  The investigation on scene based on evidence and witness statements determined that the pedestrian, Shane Thomas Muldoon was struck by a 1996 GMC Truck that was traveling N/B on Rt 63.  The truck was driven by Hallie Nelson of Clear Spring.  The investigation revealed that Muldoon was wearing all dark clothing walking on Rt 63 in the area of Resh Road.  When the GMC truck approached Muldoon, he staggered from the West side of Rt 63 directly into the path of the truck where he was subsequently struck.
