Details are scarce, but WCBC News has learned that a plane crashed near the Monongalia/Preston County line early this morning- and at least one person is dead. A spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Department did confirm that crews were on the scene of a plane crash, reportedly in the vicinity Coopers Rock. Although not confirmed, indications are that the first calls came in just after 10 a.m. FAA representatives as well as police, fire and rescue units were on the scene. No further details have been released.
