A firearm was found in a parking lot of Allegany College of Maryland's Cumberland campus on Tuesday, the school said in a news release Wednesday morning.
There was no shooting and no injuries. City police were contacted and the campus community was informed of a potentially unsafe situation, according to the news release.
Police reportedly searched the parking lots and later expanded the investigation off-campus.
