On December 17, 2015 at approximately 8:56 p.m., Cumberland Police Department responded to the 200 block of Decatur Street for gun shots. Upon arrival officers set up a perimeter around the immediate location with the assistance of the Maryland State Police and the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office. A canvas of the area resulted in negative results in regards to locating a suspect and/or any victims. Evidence was gathered at the scene which indicated that a firearm had been discharged several times and some property damage occurred. Investigators from C3I responded to the scene and assisted officers in contacting residents in the immediate area. C3I has assumed the investigation and will be following up on all leads at this time.
