May 28th, 2014 by WCBC Radio

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR BEDFORD AND SOMERSET COUNTIES THROUGH THIS EVENING.

TRAINING HEAVY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS MOVING TO THE EAST SOUTHEAST ACROSS THE SAME REGION…WILL BRING THE LIKELIHOOD OF  AN ADDITIONAL 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN THROUGH THIS EVENING.

RAINFALL AMOUNTS THAT EXCEED 2 INCHES IN A FEW HOUR PERIOD WILL   GREATLY INCREASE THE THREAT OF FLASH FLOODING.

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING.  YOU SHOULD CONTINUE TO MONITOR 1270 AM WCBC FOR UPDATED FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.
