Flood Watch In Effect Through Sunday Night

September 9th, 2018 by WCBC Radio

The National Weather Service has posted a Flood Watch for our area through late tonight.

Moderate to heavy rain is expected, with one to three inches the best guess, with locally higher amounts possible.

If you live in an area prone to flooding, keep an eye on the streams and drainage areas, and stay tuned to this station for possible warnings.

Although he's keeping tabs on today's rainy weather, Allegany County Emergency Services Director Dick Devore is also keeping an eye on the Atlantic Ocean, where Hurricane Florence is expected to make landfall, probably along the Carolina coast, late in the week. It's too early to tell what happens after that, so Devore is advising to be prepared.
