Foote Could Seek Third Term

May 3rd, 2019 by WCBC Radio

Embattled Allegany County Board of Education member Wayne Foote, during public sessions, frequently mentions that he is a twice elected public official- and apparently he isn’t ruling out a third term- even if the state removes him. The process to remove Foote for misconduct in office and willfull neglect of duty began in December with the local board making the formal request to the state- and it will continue with hearings in July followed by a final decision from the state board. If the state chooses to remove Foote he could appeal to the Circuit Court. If the court would rule in favor of his removal Foote would be off the board, and an interim appointed by the governor. However, William Reinhard, a spokesman for the State Board of Education,  tells WCBC News that there is nothing that would prohibit Foote from seeking re-election to the school board in 2020. While  he isn’t commenting- several people close to Foote have told WCBC News they believe that if he is kicked off the board- he would likely file to run again. Under that scenario  there would be three school board seats up for election in 2020- those currently held by Tammy Fraley and David Bohn as well as the seat held by the appointee.

LOL – some people can’t take no for an answer. The idea that two of the three amigo seats could be up for grabs should be motivating to some folks – opportunity knocks!
