Foote Voices Concerns on Board Handbook

The Allegany County Board of Education this week voted to approve the first reading of a policy pertaining to the board handbook.  The Board Handbook – a written guide approved by the Board providing a framework for Board members to carry out their roles and responsibilities- is also made available to those candidates running for a seat on the board. While four of the board members viewed the book as a valuable resource,  Wayne Foote had some concerns, saying he found it to be voluminous and that it places too many restrictions on board members…

    We need more members on the school board like Mr. Foote so that issues before the board can get a critical look and not a rubber stamp.
