Footer Dye Works Building Restoration on Schedule

Restoration of the roof of the Footer Dye Works building is about three quarters of the way complete. An update on the project was presented by Doug Reed, an official with the Maryland Historical Trust, during the monthly meeting of the Canal Place Presevation and Development Authority.  The historic four-story building is being renovated through a partnership that includes developer Michael Joy, JDL Construction of Cumberland and Brian Wishneff & Associates, a tax syndicate. The building is expected to be complete by December and will house a brewpub on the first floor, offices on the second floor and 16 loft apartments on the remaining floors.  Maryland’s Secretary of Budget and Management David Brinkley said the state has been impressed with the private investment being made in the project…
