Footer Renovation Has Official Green Light

The Maryland Board of Public Works Wednesday approved the Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority’s plans for renovations to the Footer’s Dye Works building.  Footer Building Development, LLC will begin the undertaking to renovate the historic building into a mixed use building, containing a restaurant and brew pub on the first floor with offices and apartments on the upper floors.  The project is expected to cost approximately 7 million dollars which will be funded from the developer, Michael Joy; and an additional $1.15 million that will come from the state of Maryland. The project is expected to be completed by December 2016.
