Former City Council Woman Urges City To Consolidate Services With County

Former Cumberland City Council member Mary Beth Pirolozzi is urging city officials to begin a serious effort to consolidate a wide range of services with Allegany County. Faced with a $1.3 million shortfall, the city council appears ready to implement a nearly ten percent tax hike in the coming weeks. Pirolozzi, who also served many years as an administrative assistant to State Senator’s John Bambacus and John Hafer in Annapolis, says the time for talk is finished- and it’s time to take action to combine city and county services…
