Former School Janitor Convicted Of Second Degree Rape Of 16-Year Old

The Office of the State’s Attorney for Allegany County, Michael O. Twigg, State’s Attorney, announced on Monday, June 25, 2018, that Michael Thomas McKenzie, 24 of Frostburg, was convicted in the Allegany County Circuit Court of second degree rape relating to the sexual assault of a 16-year old minor in January of 2018.

Circuit Court Judge W. Timothy Finan ordered that McKenzie be remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center pending a pre-sentence investigation by the Office of Parole and Probation.  Sentencing will be held on a later date.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorney Karen Detrick and Assistant State’s Attorney Samuel Lane.  McKenzie was represented by Linda W. Buckel, Esquire of Buckel, Levasseur & Pillai, LLC and Ramon Rozas III, Esquire of Rozas Law Office, LLC.
