Fort Hill Awarded Alkire Trophy For Area Football Championship

WCBC's Tim Kane Awards The John Alkire Memorial Trophy to Fort Hill Football Coach Todd Appel as the 2017 WCBC Area Football Championship.

The Sentinels narrowly lost to Dunbar in the MPSSAA 1A Title Game, advancing to the state championship for the fifth consecutive year, winning four.

John Alkire was a local football legend as both a player and a coach before passing away from cancer several years ago.
