Public reaction has been swift and emotional on social media to a consultant’s report which recommends, among other actions, closing Parkside and George’s Creek elementary schools. Those proposals are part of a redistricting study currently taking place among Allegany County Public Schools. Facility Engineering Associates of Fairfax, Virginia, was contracted to perform the study that focuses on Allegany County’s 14 elementary schools.
