Maryland's Board of Public Works approved $413 million in budget cuts earlier this month- as the state deals with the massive impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. The panel, which consists of Gov. Larry Hogan, Comptroller Peter Franchot and State Treasurer Nancy Kopp, voted 2-1, with Hogan and Franchot in favor of the reductions. More budget cuts will likely be coming in the next few weeks and months. The administration agreed to defer $205 million of additional cuts in order to win Franchot's vote- many of those cuts would target state employees. While the Board could consider additional cuts as early as this week- Franchot tells WCBC News it would be far more prudent to see what the state’s revenue picture looks like after all of the numbers are known from the July 15th tax deadline…
