Franchot Asking for Teachers Vax Mandate

Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot is asking the state’s new superintendent of schools to implement a vaccination mandate for teachers and staff. Franchot’s comments come just days after Superintendent Mohammed Choudhury said he expects no public-school building in the state will close this academic year because of COVID-19. Choudhury said he believes local school systems have enough safety protocols in place to keep schools from having to close.
